Many months ago I had Ryan shape me a new board, a modern egg shape, perfect for an old fart like me:
My daughter Lena displays the board.

Well, I liked the looks of the board so much that I decided to not wax it up and save it for my new office wall that I should be moving into the next couple of months.
However, when I awoke this morning I decided to break it in, and surfed Rincon with it for a couple of hours earlier today.
This new board fills a gap in my quiver that is mostly comprised of thrusters, and then there are my guns. Since pretty much sitting out the past 2 years due to chronic back pain I thought that an 8' board would be perfect for me until I managed to surf myself back into shape.
THIS BOARD ROCKS! Ryan shaped it using the template of his uber-popular Vampire and She hulls, but gave it a bit of extra volume with soft down rails (I'm not into blades), and I could tell immediately on the first wave that it was really loose. With a double-stringer blank and extra h.d. glass (complete with deck patch) it is on the heavier side, but it felt perfectly balanced and stable while being loose.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, I just wanted to thank Ryan once again for the fine board that he created for me this Spring.
