Figured after all ive talked about it I should finally review the thing... So on that note:

Finally got my HP Fish from Ian a few days ago and got to take it out for the first time today. All I can say is WOW. The thing is just magic. Sections I normally would have trouble making were navigated with ease, and putting the thing on rail is effortless.. And I dont know if it was the Resin-X or what but the board just feels incredibly lively under my feet... Just awesome :D I honestly felt like I surfed over my ability level today (And its probably all due to the board!) Cant wait to take it out again!

The only thing im a little concerned about is it seems really susceptible to pressure dents. After one session I already have a decent footwell/ dents just off the rail where my hands go when I pop up. Does anyone know if this is common with the Resin-X/Eps combo (Paging CJSB, ShShSh :p)?

I took the wax off my eps/resin-x hp fish after one late summer and winter of use. My board does have its share of dings, but not as many as my standard pu shorty from Ian. I'll let Shshshshshsh take over though, as he is clearly a master with resin-x.

LOL. Hardly a master. I will say, though, that getting 'footwells' with Resin-X is to be expected. The EPS isn't a static surface, like poly boards. So it will indent. The beauty of the Resin-X, though, is that it has the same give as the EPS. It'll actually come back a bit versus your standard pu/pe board that crushes in and stays crushed.

Stoked to hear you're stoked on Ian's board! I'm continually blown away by mine. I'm actually now at one step beyond the HP-quad fish, with that twin keel HP fish. I love it. Ian really has a winning set-up with this/these boards. Not everything works for everyone, but most who try these have been about as stoked as I've been.
