I took a trip up north this weekend to see some family, and on the way back, I decided to take the PCH all the way home while taking pics along the way. Anyway, these were taken at around 10-10:30 and I dont know if you can tell or not, but the waves were barely rideable. Surfline calls barely rideable Mav's 15'+, but I thought the waves were in the 5-7' range. Eh, mabye my wave measuring scale is off. Anyway, enjoy.

These last two are of our blubbery friends from San Simeon. That one beast laying there by himself was about 10 feet long and 5,000 lbs, scary! Just thinking about a Great White wanting that thing was enough to give me the chills. Also, in the other pic, I tried capturing a left that kept peeling nicely with the seals in the foreground to give you guys some idea of the size. These two pics were taken just before dark four hours ago btw.

I was at Mavs too. Yeah, wasn't what surfline said it was, and the previous weekend was the reverse, the said it was nothing but it was huge. WTF?

There's a break on the south side of the Half Moon bay jetty, right on the hwy that was breaking really nicely. quite fun looking head high sets.

You were at Mav's yesterday too?! What a coincidence! Anyway, that break you're talking about looked good yesterday. There were about seven ppl on it, and I saw someone catch a nice reform 3' right as I drove by. Looked like a neat spot.

The first one is of the lookout point where I snapped all the shots of the waves. The sandline ended right where you can see it in the picture and I sort of had to do the rock dance to get to this positiion. The next three pictures were taken as I was leaving, just to capture the scenery and stuff.

The first photo is of a San Mateo cow, she looked pretty happy as I snapped this.

The second is in North Santa Cruz Co. I believe. I think it was north of Ano Nuevo Island somewhere.

The third is just south of Ano Nuevo, I think I saw a gnarly left as I drove by so I tried capturing it, sorry about poor quality.

Finally, this fourth one is of a left another few miles south of the last picture. I stopped off the freeway to stretch for this one and was amazed by way the waves jacked up and backed off so quickly. They were SOO much different from So. Cal waves. Just the aura of power surrounded this beach completely. I couldn't help but think there were 20x more Great Whites per square mile out in the lineup than at Mavs for some reason. Mabye it was the cleaner water or something, idk. That's another thing, why is the water more blue as you get closer to Santa Cruz from San Mateo?

Finally, I stopped here near Pebble Beach on the PCH and took a picture of the insanely clean water of Monterey Co. I've never seen CA water so crystal blue before as when I came through here to San Simeon. The water seriously looked so good, I would be tempted to have a drink if you offered me a glass. Anyway, if I tilted the camara up a little, you would be looking directly at Ghost Tree.

Here's one last pic of that beast from San Simeon I took on my cell two weeks ago. My friend snapped this one of me snapping one of him, so I thought it would a good way to give you all some perspective of the animal. This was taken on that beach with that decrepit old motel on the cliff that looks like the Bates Motel from Psycho. I forget what it called though. Anyway, cheers!
