Had to go to LA today. Pretty good little South. Malibu was shoulder high and looked real fun. Lines showing from Pt Mugu to Santa MOnica.

Session down in Newport this morning. Chest to HH waves, with some 1-2' OH sets. There was a ton of fog this morning, however, and the current was running North pretty swiftly. After 1 hour, I went in to see roughly where I was. I was in Huntington! I had drifted into a new city, surfing the whole way there. Like a jackass, I paddled back... pretty draining, but surfed back, too. In the water 3 hours total, and the waves never let up.

If you can get down south for this swell, I recommend it.

grinder, whether the back beach (surf club) bowls or the real deal calleguas creek tunnels (like a sandbar little drakes)i've hiked, boated them or got on through work for as longtime but not too recently...but, when i was in the water and took a moment to look around, i swear i could still see the Chumash mucking around for food in the marsh, fishing or shell hunting on the beach or traveling by in their canoes...the place has beau coup magic

I Know What Your Talking About In Regards To The Chumash Spirits, I Once Found A
Bowl That Was Carved Out Of A Rock Down Near The Inlet. One Of My Best Buddies
Lived On A Ranch On The North Side Border Of Pt Mugu And We Hiked In From There
To The Point. One Time We Hiked In During The Air Show(69 Or 70) And About Got Blown Up When They Started To Bomb The Beach At The End Of The Air Strip During A
Bombing Drill. We Ran 2 Miles Back To The Fence With Boards In Tow.(i'll Never Forget That Near Death Experince)

Now Grinder, you know that's Top Secret info!! ;-)

Carp Jaws,
Roger on the beau coup magic...so much so that I saw it perfect for the final resting place of my Mom's ashes this past Summer. Now I feel every swell that sweeps in through there washes over her before they get to me. Magical, mystical spot indeed...seeps with the Chumash vibe.

muguvian, sweet on your mother's memory, next time those chumash spirits have an abalone trading trip planned in the south, they'll be paddling right through her spirit...grinder, your path crossed the 'radar towers'...oh those lefts during summer -chubascos, most esoteric -when it was "top secret info"...the stories we could share about that place...common vibes
