Annual Green Issue
The latest issued of DEEP Magazine is available at your local newsstand now. Chock full of killer content, the current issue’s features include, “Living Green: Riding the Green Wave Home” which explores the world of living in an environmentally-friendly yurt. “Leviathans of the Deep Blue Sea” examines the world of whales that occupy the Eastern Pacific—both past and present—and the impacts of whaling and conservation. Following is a featured titled “Winter Photo Essay”—an article showing an amazing collection of surfing images captured in early Winter 2009. And, to top it off, is a piece titled, “The Last Frontier”, which takes the reader for a trip through the wilderness of Alaska.
In addition to local news briefs there is a fine interview of Reynolds Yater by Glenn Dubock in The Plane Truth. Chuck Graham “Drops in on” kayaker Tony Chapman, and in The Dirty Truth, Lori Rafferty uncovers the reality of coastal pollution in the sand. Michael Kew reviews the film 180 Degrees South, and there is also the Central/South Coast Surf Shop Directory. In The Green Room, writer Ben Preston reports on the renewable energy project proposed for Vandenberg (AFB) waters, “When it comes to electricity production, a long wave is better than getting barreled (by oil).”
