Rincon Classic 2011: Contest Postponed (Again)

January 12th Update
The 2011 Quiksilver Rincon Classic will be postponed until week 3 of the waiting period Saturday and Sunday January 22 & 23. With our official swell forecasters at Surfline predicting head high plus increasing swell that weekend there is a great possibility that the event will be held then. Check back next Wednesday January 20th for the official call, schedule of events, site map, and heat draws. —Chris Keet
Running surf contests is surely not for the faint of heart. Trying to make the right call—when waves and weather will be just right for an epic event—has proven to be an incredible challenge for Chris Keet particularly due to the extreme El NiƱo-fueled weather last year, and the opposite cold-water phenomenon this year. In order to make the best decision possible, Keet has been relying on the opinion of Surfline.com’s guru Sean Collins.
