California Gold

There are many reasons why California is called “The Golden State”.  It probably was first used to characterize the state where the “Forty Niners” struck it rich when they hit the Mother Lode at Sutter’s Mill back in the 1800’s.  Sometimes you hear people using the expressing when talking about the golden grass- and Oaktree-covered hills found all over California’s interior from NorCal to the Mexican boarder.  For those of us who live on the so-called “Gold Coast”, well, that one is pretty obvious.  Anyway, this is what I found myself thinking about while looking into the viewfinder of my waterhousing..this afternoon.  I hope you enjoy the photos…

Best regards, Jon.
