Swell That Awoke Sleeping Giant Teahupoo Days Earlier Unloads on Local Coast
Today started very early for me, 5:00 am. I picked my buddy Steve (Bissell) up at 7:00 so that we could rendezvous with our friend Shawn “Schuey” Schukraft at 8:00, and go to his favorite beach to shoot. It had been a while for all three of us, and I know Steveo and I were anxious to shoot, as the last few weeks have been sorta dry photography-wise. The waves were very playful, with fun tubes, good corners, and the occasional ramp to be had. I know everyone had a great time. Props go out to Shuey for being the gentleman that he always is, and for sharing a couple of hours out of his busy schedule enabling us to feed our addiction. Below are a couple of sample shots. Look closely at the empty wave, and you will see two dolphins surfing the tube.
