“From the Desert, to the Heartland, to the Tropical Pacific coast, Kathryn was born in Arizona and raised in Iowa. She began painting professionally in 1982 after completing her Master’s Degree in Fine Art. Her work is found in corporate and private collections all over the world. She moved to Costa Rica in 2004, which created a paradigm shift in her work. The artist recognized as a premier urban plein air painter for over 22 years capturing forgotten moments in everyday life in cities and large metropolises, now lived in a jungle beach community with no concrete boulevards or skyscrapers. Her love of the ocean and surfing redirected and focused her. She began painting waves and the power and magic of the ocean. She lovingly refers to the ocean as her muse…”
