Bobby & Friends

Surfing in Santa Barbara County…what can you say about it?  When it’s on it’s on. You can drive out there many times and get skunked, or you can catch it really good. This particular day it was closer to the latter. You just never know what you are going to see, or who you will run into out there. This day the waves and shooting conditions were really good early in the morning, and then the fog slammed in and put a small kine kabosh on the great shooting. However, the surf was being attacked by a crew that was being led by Bobby Martinez. What needs to be said about Bobby in big heaving lefts; poetry in motion. He was pulling into barrels from every angle, swooping out and laying down huge cutties. Also charging were Andrew Bennett, the Venturelli Brothers, Jimmy Martinez, Jon Pyzel, Sam Cammick, Paul Woyack, and oh yea, Tommy and Leann Curren!

I hope you enjoy this slide show, it was a really fun shoot for me.
